Kumaran is Director of Litigation at Vyman Solicitors and leads the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department. He advises businesses, investors, professionals and private individuals on a broad range of complex and high-value disputes, combining strong technical expertise with a commercially focused and strategic approach.

After graduating from the University of Oxford, Kumaran began his legal career in 2010 as a Trainee Solicitor with a Legal 500 firm in Norwich, qualifying as a solicitor shortly thereafter. In 2012, he joined a boutique litigation practice in the City of London, where he spent nine years acting on complex High Court litigation, including financial derivatives mis-selling claims. He was promoted to Partner in 2017 and subsequently led a Legal 500-ranked litigation team before joining Vyman Solicitors in 2023.

Kumaran specialises in commercial litigation, contentious probate, professional negligence, contractual disputes, director and shareholder disputes, debt recovery matters and commercial property disputes. He also has extensive experience advising on landlord and tenant disputes, including possession claims, lease extensions and deposit protection matters.

Known for his pragmatic and methodical approach, Kumaran focuses on achieving commercially sensible outcomes while protecting his clients’ wider business, financial and personal interests. He works closely with clients to develop effective litigation strategies, resolve disputes efficiently and navigate complex legal challenges with confidence and sound commercial judgement.
