Experience

After graduating from the University of Oxford, Kumaran began his legal career in 2010 as a Trainee Solicitor with a Legal 500 firm in Norwich, following which he qualified as a solicitor. In 2012, Kumaran joined a boutique litigation firm in the City of London, where he spent nine years regularly acting for clients in complex financial derivatives mis-selling claims in the High Court and became a Partner in 2017. Kumaran subsequently headed a Legal 500-ranked litigation team until June 2023, before joining Vyman as a Senior Litigation Associate in July 2023.

Kumaran specialises in a wide range of commercial litigation, including contentious probate, contractual disputes, and professional negligence claims. He regularly deals with a host of landlord and tenant disputes, including deposit protection claims, lease extensions, and possession claims. Kumaran also has considerable experience of acting for clients in debt recovery matters and director and shareholder disputes.

Kumaran uses a client-centred and methodical approach in order to ensure optimal results for his clients.

Personal

In his spare time, Kumaran enjoys spending time with his family, playing chess, and supporting Liverpool FC.
